Welcome to the State fo Nevada Unemployment Insurance online claim filling system.
This post is the first part of a series that was created to help you with the process of filing an unemployment claim online from the official ui.nv.gov website.
To begin the process of filing a claim online you must create a new online claimant account. You will need to create an username and password, provide basic information and choose questions, and a picture for your personal security profile.
Create and Register a New Nevada Unemployment Claimant Account
Now let’s go to the self-service platform on the ui.nv.gov page:

Click on the “For UI Claimants” tab. Next at the upper rigth hand corner click on “New claimant registration”.
On the claimant registration screen, the fields in the following screen marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory and must be filled in before you can proceed to the next screen. You must use your full legal name to complete this registration.
Username and password
You must create a username that is unique and that you can easily remember. Your username must be between 8 and 20 characters long and can only use alphanumeric characters and cannot use any spaces.
Your password should contain information that only you know and that is not easy to guess, the more complex your password is, the more secure your account will be. You have to create at the end a 4 character number as your personal identification number PIN. Finally you will have to read and accept the “I accept the User Agreement” option.
Personal Information
Check your name, date of birth and social security number. Any errors can cause a long delay in processing your claim. If you need to correct this information press “Back” and if the information is correct press “Submit” to continue.
If you completed these steps, congratulations! because your claimant account was successfully created. To complete the registration process you must log in using the information you created. Enter your username and press “Continue”.
Login to Your Nevada Unemployment Insurance Claimant Account
Then enter your password and press “Enter”.
After you log in you will reach the “Claimant Login” screen. This screen describes the process of completing your personal security profile.
Account setup process
A preview of the image and sentence created by the system will be displayed. If you wish you can change the image or phrase in your personal security profile by clicking on the link in the “Image and phrase”.
When you are satisfied with your image and sentence press “Continue”. Then you need to select three questions and answers to establish your personal security profile.
Choose one question from the drop-down menu in each selection box. Be sure to review all of the available questions and you should write your answer next to the space where it says “answer”.
Also, be sure to write down and save this information. Press the “Submit” button when you are ready to continue.
Complete all required fields on the personal information screen that are marked with an asterisk (*). When you are ready to continue press “Next”.
Address
On this “Address” screen, you must enter your mailing address. You must also provide your Residential address if this address is different from your mailing address. Please note that a postal address cannot be used as your residential address.
Contact method
Select your preferred method of contact. If you select phone, you must provide a phone number or if you select email, you must provide an email.
Demographic data
In this screen of “Demographics”, you must fill in all the required information. Each of the options has a drop-down menu that you will have to open and choose the answers that apply to this information. This is only used for statistical data.
At the end of the screen, you will have to answer if you are a citizen. If you answer no, you must provide your foreigner number beginning with the letter a and the expiration date.
Employer
On the next screen, you must choose one of the employers you previously worked for. If one of the employers does not appear on the list, you can select “NONE OF THE ABOVE”, which means none of the employers on the list.
Benefits Estimator
The following screen is a preliminary assessment of your potential eligibility. To receive unemployment benefits, you must be sure to read all the information on the screen because it may affect the amount of your benefit. It is recommended that you print this page and keep it for your records.
