Apply for Benefits
There is a lot of information on this page that you will be able to read, including what you will need to apply for benefits and how to view correspondence from TWC. Go down the web and click on submit an application for employment benefits.
Login and registration
This will take you to the unemployment benefits service page. If you already have a TWC user registration in Texas, you can log in here, otherwise click on register for the user name in the box to the left (User ID).
On this page you are required to enter your first and last name. You also have the option of entering your e-mail address, which is a good idea for TWC to communicate with you more easily.
Sign Up
You will then choose a user name that is unique and memorable. Once you have chosen a username, click the “Check Availability” button to the right to verify.
Once you have a valid username, you must choose a password. Then go down and complete the security questions. Be sure to remember the answers you write.
Socila Security Number
You will need to enter your social security number and click yes on the question to apply for unemployment benefits today.
Information you need
Before you continue it is important to have all the information you need, this includes
- The address of the last employer’s business.
- First and last day, month, day and year.
- When you worked for your last employer.
- How many hours you worked.
- Level of pay and work this week, including Sunday
- Information regarding your regular salary.
- Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen.
Once you have this information, you will be ready to apply for unemployment benefits in the State of Texas.
