Do you disagree with what we’ve decided?

You will get a decision letter in the mail when we decide whether or not your claim is accepted. You are permitted to appeal if you disagree.

Should a claim be reopened?

The full amount of Unemployment Insurance benefits that you are eligible to receive based on your financial eligibility must be collected within one year of the day you submit your first claim.

You may renew your first claim if you get benefits for a while, go back to work, and then lose your job again.

Additionally, if an ineligibility term has passed, a claim may be reopened (for example, after you quit or are fired).

Log into your account or give us a call to reopen a claim.

Were your benefits overpaid?

You will get a letter in the mail informing you whether benefits were mistakenly paid to you. Here is the next step.

Should you terminate your benefits?

When you contact or go on to the website to certify for benefits after going back to work, you’ll let us know. You’ll need your new employer’s name, contact information, and the day you returned. Additionally, you must provide the number of hours you put in and your monthly total income (you may need to estimate these).
