How to Apply for Reemployment Assistance – Florida Unemployment

In this tutorial you will have a guide to applying for reemployment assistance. Here you will learn what you need and how to file a claim. Whether you were recently laid off, quit fired or had hours reduced, you may be elegible to apply for reemployment assistance.

Reemployment Assistance is there to provide you with temporary financial benefits. We encourage you to file your claim right away.

What You´ll Need?

Let´s begin with the information you´ll need before starting your application. You´ll need your:

  • Social security number.
  • Driver´s license.
  • Other government issued ID.

If you´re not a US citizen, you´ll aslo need to provide your Alien registration number on the back of your card.

The DEO also need the last 18 months of employment with all employers.

You will need to provide each employer´s name, employer ID number, contact information, dates worked, gross earnings and reasons for separation.

Most of this information can be found on your W2 or tax forms.

If you were in the US military during this period you´ll also need to provide your DD214 form.

If you are civilian employed with the federal government, you will need to provide your SS-8 or SF50 as appropiate.

You will need be given the option to upload these documents in the application.

Yo can receive your payments by direct deposit or debit card. To set up direct deposit, you will need to provide your bank routing number and account number. Otherwise a debit card will be sent to you when you receive your first payment.

If you have previously filed a claim in Florida, you may already have an account through the connect system.
