UI Online: Access Tax Information/Form 1099G Using UI Online

Posted on by

Welcome to UI Online – the fastest, most convenient and secure way to certify for continued unemployment benefits and manage your claim.

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to access tax information and how to obtain your Form 1099G through UI Online. Each January, EDD mails a Form 1099G to each individual who received taxable unemployment compensation during the previous year. You should refer to this information when you file your tax return.

In order for you to use UI Online to obtain tax information, you must first register for the Online Benefit Programs and create an account in UI Online. If you have not yet created an account, see the informative tutorial “UI Online: Features and the registration process”, which will help you create your account in the Online Benefits Programs.. Through UI Online, you can access tax information for benefits you have already received from EDD, in most cases, without having to speak to a representative.

From the UI Online home page, select the 1099G link to access the 1099G page.

Through the 1099G page, you can view and print tax information on unadjusted benefits (Form 1099G) for up to five years and can also request paper forms. The EDD updates UI Online with the most current tax information for the previous tax year no later than January 31.

Due to the extremely high volume of unemployment claims filed, the IRS is allowing the EDD to process 1099G tax forms through February.

However, if you would like an official copy mailed to you, select the “Request Hard Copy” button. In addition to the most recent tax year, UI Online has copies of tax information for the last 5 years.

At the bottom of the page, below the options to print the most recent tax year, there are links to access the last 5 tax years.
