Possible approval, payment and eligibility dates

Posted on by

This Thursday, the House of Representatives voted to approve a new version of the HEROES Act. We show you the news and everything that can happen.

Hope is the last thing to die, that should be the motto for the millions of Americans who still have confidence that the second economic stimulus check will be passed before the presidential election takes place on November 3.

Negotiations between Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continue, and Democrats decided to pass a renewed HEROES Act on Thursday with the intention of reaching an agreement.

The Democratic proposal contains a second $1,200 stimulus check, but the fact that the House passed the bill does not mean that negotiations between Democrats and Republicans were unlocked. Here’s what might happen until this Friday, October 2.

Second Stimulus Check: Update on Possible Approval, Payment and Eligibility Dates

Trump reported that he tested positive for coronavirus, a situation that Nancy Pelosi believes could serve “as a lesson in learning that we must respect health care measures. The same House leader pointed out that they continue to talk with Steven Mnuchin.

However, this Friday, October 2, the House of Representatives will take a break and return to the U.S. Congress until next Monday, although to decide on votes, it could take a few days so that until October 8 they could start.

The Senate does not plan to approve the ‘HEROES Act’, a situation that could cause the negotiations to cool down again. They are still betting on a $1.6 billion package, which would include a new stimulus check, $400 in unemployment benefits, etc.

The big problem is that if Trump’s health worsens, the negotiations may stop, as the president has to review the proposal before signing. All that remains is to wait.
