CT FMLA Complaints: Tutorial for Filing on Behalf of Another
To access the CT department of labor follow these steps:
Step 1: Access the CT Department of Labor Website
To begin, visit the CT Department of Labor website.
Step 2: Find the Submission Link
Scroll down the webpage to find the link for CT Family & Medical Leave and CT Paid Leave. Click on the link.
Step 3: Submit a New CT FMLA Complaint
On the new webpage, locate the link to submit a new CT FMLA Complaint. Click on the link.
Step 4: Sign Up for a CT.gov Account
If you already have a CT.gov username and password, sign in. Otherwise, click on the “Sign Up Now” link to create a new account.
Follow the instructions to fill out the form and click the “SIGN UP FOR A CT.GOV ACCOUNT” button.
Review the information and click “Submit”.
Step 5: Verify your Email and Log In
Open a new internet browser tab and access your email to get the verification code. Go back to the CT.gov tab, paste the code, and click “Verify”.
Once verified, use your username and password to sign in. Click the “Sign in” link.
Step 6: Access the Appeals and Complaints Portal
After logging in, you will be brought to the CTPL Appeals and CT FMLA Complaints Portal. Click on “Get Started” to file a CT FMLA complaint.
Note: If you had a saved complaint, you can continue from where you left off.
Step 7: Choose the Complaint Type
There are three options, but for this tutorial, we will focus on filing a CT Family and Medical Leave complaint.
Step 8: Provide Your Information
Answer the questions according to whether you are an attorney or filing on behalf of another.
Complete the Representative Information and/or Attorney Information screens.
Step 9: Choose Communication Preferences
Select whether you prefer email or paper mail for communications.
Step 10: Complete the Complainant Information
Fill in the required fields for the complainant and their communication preferences.
Step 11: Enter Eligibility Information
Select the appropriate leave type from the dropdown menu and provide any additional information.
Step 12: Enter Employer Information
Fill in the necessary details about the employer.
Step 13: Verify Contact and Company Information
If prompted, verify the contact information and the company details.
Step 14: Select Complaint Reason and Upload Documentation
Select the reason for filing the complaint and upload any supporting documents.
Step 15: Review and Submit
Review the information you entered and make any necessary updates. Click “Submit” to finalize the complaint.
Step 16: Confirmation and Dashboard
You will receive a confirmation screen. Click “OK” to proceed.
You will be brought to your dashboard, where you can view and manage your submissions.
Step 17: Accessing Your Complaint Information
You can access your complaint details, upload additional documents, and track the progress of your complaint through the dashboard.
Use the profile drop-down menu to manage your account, submit new appeals or complaints, view your submissions, or log out.
