What you should do to get a stimulus check owed to you faster

Posted on by

If you fail to take this action, the stimulus check payment you are owed could be delayed for months.

There are many people who were eligible to receive the stimulus checks already distributed by the government, but never received them. If this is your case, then here’s a tip that could help you get it back quickly.

As you well know, the stimulus checks that have been handed out are linked to the taxes you file. For this reason, if you are owed a stimulus check, you should have the return you will file with the IRS this year in order to get it paid quickly.

Remember that tax season begins in just 10 days, on February 12. On this date the IRS will begin accepting tax returns. By knowing your financial status, the IRS will be able to calculate the amount of money owed to you in refunds… or stimulus checks that never arrived.

You should also know that April 15 is the deadline for filing your return, which means you’ll have a little more than two months to send it to the IRS.

However, it is best to send your tax return as soon as possible. If possible, on February 12.

By filing your taxes as soon as possible, you could not only speed up any tax refunds owed to you by the government, but also put you in the front of the line to receive any money owed to you from the first two stimulus checks weeks or even months in advance.

In addition to submitting your tax return as soon as possible to the IRS, you should also request payment of any stimulus check you are owed as a Refund Recovery Credit.

But, if you only request your Refund Recovery Credit, but do not send in your return on time, the IRS will not be able to give you the money you are owed from the stimulus checks until it has finished reviewing your return. That’s why it’s important to get them ready as soon as possible.

So now you know, don’t let your money go to waste any longer, so take advantage of these 10 days to request your refund recovery credit and to send in your returns by February 12.
